Global Network
Different partnerships, described below, are offered. The specifics of each relationship-including deliverables, schedules, deadlines, guidance, and support-as agreed upon by both parties are recorded in a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
Current developments and financial crises around the world have created the need to incorporate best practices into governments' policy making and university classrooms, with the ultimate goal of increasing the availability of relevant information on countries best practice standards. Increasing worldwide awareness and subsequent implementation and dissemination of best practice standards reduces the risk of crisis, making countries more attractive for private investment. To that end, eStandardsForum supports a global research network of prominent universities and research institutes.
Research Institutes
Reliable and accurate information on local economic, financial, and political affairs relative to international best practices is often scarce. However, independent think-tanks, with their unique knowledge of local conditions can help remedy this situation. We therefore cooperate with prestigious research institutes in different countries to produce and publish Country Reports on international standards compliance and implementation. Researchers also establish a dialogue with local policy makers, regulators, and supervisors to keep abreast of current developments. In conjunction with eStandardsForum, the research institutes organize seminars, conferences, and round tables to present their work.
We also cooperate on common issues of current concern regarding the globalization experience in general or for a particular country or region and report on these activities at our Annual Globalization Conference. The country reports and any other research produced as a result of a partnership are published on our website. Our partners have full access to our global network of institutions.
Universities
Research Projects
Research and other projects are offered by eStandardsForum to business schools and economic departments around the world in order to increase worldwide adoption and implementation of international best practices; promote communication and exchange of information with local regulators and policy makers; and encourage the publication and dissemination of publicly available information. The research opportunities provided are:
Research Module: this project consists of gathering and analyzing economic, financial, and political information for a specific country or group of countries to be included in our Country Reports. Internships are also available.
Government Interviews: this project involves conducting interviews and meetings with government officials, local regulators, and supervisors in order to promote the issuing and publication of relevant information not previously available.
Special Events: in conjunction with eStandardsForum, the school or university organizes special annual or bi-annual events to report on its activities and research project results, and promote best practice standards.
Academic Programs
In order to emphasize the importance of ethical business conduct for the benefit of stakeholders in education programs for business leaders, eStandardsForum promotes the following programs and acts as a facilitator for their implementation and success:
Course on Best Practice Standards: a full course or a module within a course is offered by eStandardsForum on some or all best practice standards: Data Dissemination, Monetary Policy Transparency, Fiscal Policy Transparency, Insolvency and Creditors Rights, Accounting, Auditing, Corporate Governance, Anti-Money Laundering, Payment Systems, Banking Supervision, Securities Regulation, and Insurance Supervision. The course can be offered by the School faculty members using an eStandardsForum program or by eStandardsForum's qualified staff.
Yale School of Management's (SOM) Integrated MBA Curriculum: The new curriculum at Yale is based on the premise that institutions must benefit society. Special courses focus on the obligations of enterprises to stakeholders. It is an integrated curriculum structured around the organizational management roles. This focus on the organizational role creates a richer, more relevant context for students to learn the concepts they need to succeed as managers. Also, a "Governing the Corporation" elective course offered by the Millstein Center for Corporate Governance and Performance (MCCGP) at the SOM focuses on the relationship between management and the board of directors in leading the corporation. http://mba.yale.edu/MBA/curriculum/core/index.shtml
Global Leadership MBA program (GLMBA): Universidad Anahuac in Mexico, Management Institute of Paris in France, Universidad Francisco de Vitoria in Madrid, Spain, and the University of Sacramento in the US, have joined to develop a Global Masters Degree in Business Leadership. The purpose of this program is to train students for business leadership of integrity and commitment to best practices. The GLMBA combines sound technical training in the core business disciplines with the larger view of management. The students attend a series of discussions on the challenges and opportunities that business and society are facing today, presented by CEOs and Chairmen of economically-leading organizations from every continent where the GLMBA takes place. Currently, the Global Network of Universities is composed of 17 universities around the world.http://www.uas.mx/posgrados/global/globalmba.htm
Development Studies
The Emory Development Institute (EDI) together with eStandardsForum is establishing an enhanced development study program, focusing on low income countries. Together, we promote transparency, accountability, institutional infrastructure, and capacity building so that responsible private sector investment in these countries will be more effective.
